I Will Call Upon the Lord
A 40-Day Prayer Commitment
Beginning June 7
“I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people...This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.” 1 Timothy 2:1, 3-4

Paul, inspired by Holy Spirit, tells Timothy to begin with prayer and make it a priority when he says "first of all." The reason given for this is prayer creates an environment where people can be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth of Jesus Christ. And this sums up the purpose of the coming of God our Savior and what pleases Him.

Beginning Wednesday, June 7, I ask you to join me in a commitment to pray the Word and a commitment to do what we find in it. This effort is called I Will Call Upon the Lord after Genesis 4:26 where "men began to call on the name of the Lord." Wednesday nights will be our corporate gatherings for this prayer commitment.

What do I need to do to participate?
Simply and genuinely say, "I WILL call on the name of the Lord with this church." When we say, "I WILL" and we put the emphasis on the "will," we are expressing our commitment or resolve to do something. More details about the commitment will follow soon, but our focus will be to tune our hearts to God our Savior and His desire for everyone to be saved. So for now, resolve in your heart and pray that you WILL call upon the name of the Lord with us.

What will this prayer commitment consist of?
Each Wednesday, a prayer focus from the Word of God will be presented and will serve as the focus for individual and family prayer until the next meeting. Additionally, a prayer guide will be provided for individuals and families to use for prayer times during the week. The corporate time will be a time of worship, learning and praying for one another and the gospel mission. It will be led by Allen Coker.

Children & students will participate the Timothy & Tabitha classes. http://www.nationalparkchurch.org/timothytabitha.html

Prayers we will learn to pray are as follows:
  • Call upon the Lord for REVIVAL
  • Call upon the Lord for GRACE
  • Call upon the Lord in INTERCESSION
  • Call upon the Lord in MEDITATION ON THE WORD
  • Call upon the Lord for FORGIVENESS
